The ability to raise the appearance characteristics of a profile extrusion are generally in line processes that translate into highly cost effective solutions for appearance sensitive profile extrusions.  These processes include:

• Custom coloring-By introducing custom formulated color concentrates in the melt process, a variety of custom colored profile extrusions are possible. The continuous nature of the extrusion process makes producing multiple color requirements in one production run possible. Custom colors are measured to assure conformance to a color standard via color spectrophotometer assessment. Crane Plastics custom coloring process is capable of holding color tolerances as tight as + - 1.0 Delta L, a, b and E.
• Surface texturing-A textured finish, such as a wood grain or stipple finish can be achieved with the use of texture rolls that continuously roll a pattern in the profile extrusion. Crane Plastics' post form extrusion capability allows for pattern registration around radii and corners. Surface texturing is an effective solution to hiding extrusion marks inherent in the extrusion process.
• Film lamination-Laminating a decorative film to impart the appearance of natural wood grains or brushed metallic surfaces is very similar to surface texturing. Our post form extrusion process also makes it feasible to laminate decorative films around radii and corners. Some films may require an intermediary adhesive layer to assure adhesion to profile surfaces. Other films can be fused to the profile's surface for an extremely durable decorative finish.
